About

I'm Siânna (pronounced Shana)

I do what I do because I believe bodies are happiest if you keep them moving. How that looks and what that is, is different to each individual. I see it as my privilege to help you along on that  journey; to find deep connections within your own body that allows you to feel empowered and intelligent.

 

I’m here to provide unique training, whether it's somatic movement practice, pilates, aerial yoga, breath work or calisthenics. Finessing what your body needs and what that will look like over time I believe should be diverse, fun and challenging.

 

I come from a background of Dance and Circus, having performed, taught and choreographed professionally for over 15 years (www.siannabruce.com). I know what it’s like to feel really strong at peak fitness and I also know what it’s like to experience injuries, chronic pain, surgeries, years of rehabilitation and the perseverance and resilience that develops as a result.

 

I believe I have a unique set of knowledge and expertise that allow me to be an excellent teacher.

I'm in it for the long haul and I hope you are too.

Class Descriptions

If you are new to the whole Pilates system below is a great way to familiarise yourself with the type of training and equipment on offer within your session 

PILATES BARRELS

Pilates Barrel class integrates the traditional Pilates method with the dynamic challenge of the barrel equipment, designed to enhance your posture, flexibility, and balance. Whether you are a beginner exploring the fundamentals or an experienced enthusiast seeking to deepen your practice, this class is tailored to cater to all skill levels.

  • Utilize the curved surface of the barrel to engage deeper abdominal muscles.

  • Perform exercises that enhance spinal articulation, promoting better posture and reducing back pain.

  • Challenge your balance and coordination as you adapt to the barrel's contours, improving overall stability.

  • Stretch and elongate your muscles in ways that are difficult to achieve on the mat or reformer.

PILATES TOWER

Pilates Tower is a a versatile apparatus that allows for a wide range of exercises, offering both resistance and support. In this class you’ll engage in a series of fluid, low-impact exercises that combine strength training, flexibility, and core stability. Experience the Tower's unique springs and bars, enhancing traditional Pilates movements for a deeper and more effective workout. Improve posture, alignment, and muscle tone through controlled movements that focus on precision and mindfulness.

  • Improve your range of motion through controlled stretches and movements.

  • The tower's resistance helps correct posture and align the spine, reducing the risk of injury.

PILATES PLAY-GROUND

Pilates Playground is a fun and challenging circuit-style class on Pilates Mat and Pilates Apparatus. First, the class warms up together on the Pilates mat with a full-body flow. We then will break into a Pilates Circuit using the Pilates Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Push-up Devices, Pilates Barrels, and Pedipole. This class was started in the US at Jaime White’s first studios and very quickly became a favorite and most requested class. Come experience a fun playground circuit with us.

PILATES MAT

Pilates Mat offers a dynamic and focused workout experience that takes place on the mat, emphasizing core strength, flexibility, and mindful movement. In this class, participants engage in a series of exercises designed to build a strong and stable core, improve posture, and enhance overall body awareness. Our instructors guide you through a sequence of movements that target various muscle groups, using body weight as resistance.

REFORMER

In a typical session, we will lead you through a series of movements that are designed to target specific muscle groups. These movements often involve pulling or pushing against springs or straps, providing resistance that helps in building core strength and improving overall body alignment. The Reformer's carriage, which slides back and forth on rails, also adds an element of cardiovascular workout and helps in enhancing balance and mobility.

PILATES CHAIR + PUSH UP DEVICES

Pilates Wunda Chair and Push-Up Devices is a specialized session that incorporates two distinct pieces of equipment into the Pilates repertoire: the Wunda Chair and push-up devices. This class provides a unique and challenging workout experience, focusing on building strength, stability, and flexibility.

  • Engage in a series of movements using the Pilates chair to target the core, legs, and arms, improving your coordination and balance.

  • Integrate push-up devices to challenge your upper body, enhancing strength and endurance.
